Concussion could leave him out one week or a season depending the severity. I remember JT had a concussion a couple of years ago and he missed only 3 games.

I know that but that's kind of my point. Just because he wasn't put on IR now doesn't mean it won't be done before friday. He already had 1 concussion in his career another one would not be good

Same reason JT and most regulars played. Playing a split squad game that late makes you dress most regulars

You could ask why play a SS game that late in preseason but no reason second guessing. The Sens had no problem doing either i guess

Yeah, I think the lack of info and typical NHL "Undisclosed Upper Body" label tends to make folks fear the worst..then add in the lengthy time for a report and there ya go. Neither scenario is a good one...
